Mr. Robinson Often Says, “You Don’t Get Into The Car Business – The Car Business Gets Into You.”

Mr. Robinson started selling cars in January 1970 at Sellers Oldsmobile-Cadillac in Meridian, Mississippi. He worked for several other dealerships in Management positions while trying to achieve the goals he set for himself. In October 1978 Mr. Robinson moved his family to Hammond, Louisiana where he worked for Dick Durham at Durham Pontiac, Cadillac, GMC, and Toyota. Mr. Durham knew Mr. Robinson’s goal was to own a dealership. In 1984 he helped him find a great opportunity in a great city. When Mr. Robinson tells people about his experience in the automotive industry, he always includes how fortunate he was to work for someone like Mr. Durham, and how Mr. Durham treated him better than most families treat one another.

This dealership currently offers new Buicks and GMC, as well as all makes and models of used vehicles. Mr. Robinson has one of the largest pre-owned inventories around the River Valley offering both domestic and import vehicles with a variety of cars, trucks, vans, and sport utility vehicles for customers to choose from. Also located at South 36th Street are the Dealership’s Service Department, Parts Department, and Body Shop. The Service Department and Body Shop work on all types of vehicles and gladly handle GM warranty, all extended warranties/service agreements, and insurance claims for our customer’s. We strive to provide our customers with the best experience possible during and after the sell.

In 2018, Mr. Robinson added Harry Robinson Sallisaw Ford to the Harry Robinson Automotive Family.

While growing the dealership, we have been recognized locally as the Times Record Best of The Best and nationally for The Women's Choice Award and many other awards. Our employees have been recognized and published in national automotive publications for their contributions to the automotive industry. We celebrate the privilege of serving Fort Smith and the surrounding area since 1984! The Harry Robinson Automotive Family sells and repairs vehicles, and we also spend a lot of time volunteering and providing support in the community we love. Our fabulous management team works together on our community focus to make a difference in the River Valley.

Because of his humanitarian efforts Mr. Robinson was awarded Rotarian of the Year in 2017 and is the Arkansas Time Dealer of the Year 2018.
